Integrating Computational Thinking in Elementary Curricula
How important is CT now? Why should it be incorporated into entire elementary curricula, not just into stand-alone computer science classes? These questions are being asked by educators all around the country!
What steps are schools taking to achieve CT integration? Researchers from Education Development Center (EDC) and the Research Alliance for New York City Schools conducted a five-year study of Robin Hood Learning + Technology Fund’s computational thinking (CT) in-service teacher initiative. Their focus was to learn about the four aspects of the CT teacher professional development and the pathways schools took to integrate CT across the curriculum: Pathway Design, Implementation Activities, Student and Teacher Impact, and Setting Up for Scalability and Sustainability.
